Lake Garda is the great treasure of this territory. From the shores you can admire this wonderful lake, one of the most charming Italian lakes. During the summer many tourists arrive here attracted by the mild climate and the relaxing atmosphere. They find nice beaches, such as the ones of Desenzanino, Spiaggia d'Oro, and Rivoltella. They have also the possibility to practise water sports.

Nights are amusing and exciting thanks to the presence of night bars, restaurants, pubs, and bars. Along the main street there are always many people walking and chatting.

The night of the 15^th August is actually charming: thousands lights float on the waters of the lake creating an enchanting atmosphere.

During the winter Desenzano is loved by tourists for its mild climate and also because near the town there are several mountains to practise winter sports.

Monuments are interesting: there are the remains of a Roman villa near the beach that attract many tourists. Maybe the name of the town, Desenzano, comes from the name of the owner of this villa, Decentius. Among the many interesting objects of the archaeological museum there is a really ancient wood plough of 2000 b.C.. It is perfectly kept and shows that this area was already inhabited in ancient times. Near Desenzano there are important art towns, such as Verona and Mantova. Mount Baldo and Alps are not far, too.

In the territory of Desenzano an important event of Risorgimento took place: the battle of Solferino and San Martino. In 1878 a 74 m tower was built to celebrate this event: many frescoes portray scenes from that battle.
