Turin is surrounded by Alps and hills, being like enclosed in the end of a horn. Walking along the streets, the boulevards flanked by trees, under the bright porticos, visitors always know where they are: they can see the Alps at the end of every road, at north west and the hills at south east. Turin is characterized by straight long roads between the palaces that meet with each other creating right angles. The city was restructured by Savoia family in the second half of XVII century; modern areas were built in the last century but the city didn’t actually change its original structure based on the ancient Roman "castrum". The architect and urbanist, Le Corbusier, described Turin as the most beautiful city of the world, thanks to its perfect balance between natural environment and architecture. Turin is full of green areas: there are many wooded boulevards that take people to the many parks of the city. Along the banks of the Po there are wonderful landscapes. Turin is then characterized by its fountains having the shape of a bull head (symbol of the gonfalon). In Turin visitors can drink and eat well: drinking and eating are considered very important. In this city there was a great tasteful invention, that of Gianduja chocolate (that takes its name from the local mask Gianduja), made of cacao, sugar and hazelnuts. Turin is also the town of Fiat, the automotive industry founded by Agnelli family in 1899 and famous all over the world.
