Factories are only in the biggest towns: the most important are food and textile industries.

Tourism hasn't developed because of the poor roads and of the absence of accommodation facilities. Agritourisms have been developing for the last years.

Many emigrants left from Potenza to reach Rome or the biggest cities of the North.
