Palio delle Antiche Repubbliche Marinare: this annual competition is 2000 m long and the four Sea Republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa and Venice) take part in it. Each year the event is organized by one of the four cities that aim to celebrate their ancient power. The race among the boats is preceded by a wonderful procession, during which each Republic recalls important episodes of its own past. Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa, and Venice are represented respectively, by a deep blue galleon and a winged horse; a white galleon and a winged dragon; a crimson galleon and an eagle; a green galleon and a lion.

Paganiniana: this music event is dedicated to Paganini, a famous musician and composer, a very Romantic and creative soul. This event is one of the most famous of the city and allows visitors and audience to deepen their knowledge of this great musician, of his modern and innovative music thanks to the many concerts, the seminars, and other events. Genoa owns, thanks to a legacy, the famous Paganini’s violin, known as The Cannon.

Festival Internazionale del Balletto: this event is dedicated to ballet. In the past it took place in open theatres created in the famous park, Parco di Nervi.

Festival Internazionale di Poesia: this festival is dedicated to poetry, literature and music. It is an international annual event that lasts 10 days.

Festival della scienza: this festival is dedicated to science. Visitors can become real scientists in the laboratories. The main theme of this event is "discovery": visitors learn a lot, can deepen their knowledge or just have fun.

Euroflora: this show is dedicated to flowers and plants and it is one of the most important in Europe and in the world. It is organized by the Fiera di Genova every five years.

Fiera di S. Agata: this fair dedicated to Saint Agate takes place in February in the district of S. Fruttuoso, with a market dedicated to antiques.

Palio marinaro di S. Pietro: this maritime race is dedicated to Saint Peter and it takes place at the end of June. The ancient Genoan districts take part to this race. The boats leave from the open sea and go towards the beach of Foce; when they reach the land, one of the members of the crew has to put a little flag on the top of a pole.

Salone Nautico: this is a very important event for maritime industry. This Exhibition is a complete experience for yachtsmen, they find everything they need: accessories, motors, tools, raw materials, broker & charter, tourism, fishing, etc.

Processione delle Casacce: this procession takes place on Holy Thursday and it is very ancient. The members belonging to Genoan confraternities, dressed with finely embroidered dresses and with head covered by a hood, bring the statues of the Saints of the districts and heavy crosses in procession. Nowadays the procession is less impressive, but it is still charming.
