CASTEL SAN GIORGIO, AT THE HEART OF AGRO NOCERINO-SARNESE Castel San Giorgio is an agricultural town where the main activities are commerce and tanneries. It has a Longobard origin, but there are many Roman remains, such as the waterworks of Augustan period. The Longobard castle is really interesting, it was enlarged and restructured, the baronial palaces and the churches are very interesting, too. “Sfogliatella” and dried salted cod festivals (linked to the cult of Our Lady of Constantinople) are very nice.
