CAMEROTA, WHERE SEA AND SKY MEET
Camerota is a small town situated at the slopes of Bulgheria Mount.
The most beautiful element of Camerota is the sea: a few km far from Camerota there is Marina, with wonderful sandy beaches. The most charming place is Punta degli Infreschi, one of the most uncontaminated places of Italy.
The fame of Camerota is linked to its hamlet Marina di Camerota, really adored by tourists.
The coast of Marina di Camerota has wonderful caves where the remains of Homo Camerotensis were found, it is a prehistoric man lived almost 540.000 years before Christ, in the same age of Neanderthal man.
The caves are surrounded by beautiful creeks, attainable only by sea, and the coast is covered by a prosperous Mediterranean bush.
San Nicola di Bari Church is really interesting, it was built in 1400 and contains a Neapolitan crib of 1700, a stoup made with the volcanic stone of Vesuvius, brass chandeliers.
Carnival on the sea is a very nice event, there is a parade of flocks in the streets of the town, with shows, games, a blue fish festival and fireworks.
